Pre-Painted Body Parts in Dallas start at $90 at our counter, and the full range is published in the table below. A pre-painted body part is an aftermarket panel finished in the vehicle's factory paint code before delivery, using the code from the door jamb tag. Bumper covers, mirror caps and fender flares sprayed to your paint code before they ship, so the part comes out of the box ready to bolt on.

Terms you will hear at this counter and on the phone: paint code, basecoat clearcoat, tri-coat pearl, door jamb tag, PPG. If any of that is unfamiliar, ask, because getting the vocabulary right is half of ordering the correct part.
Six things worth knowing before you order
- The paint code lives on the door jamb tag, not on the registration and not in the owner's manual. Photograph the tag and bring the photo.
- Tri-coat pearls are the ones that go wrong. A white pearl is three separate layers and the mid-coat thickness changes the color, so those get sprayed with a let-down panel first.
- A pre-painted cover is finished in basecoat and clearcoat but it is not blended into the adjacent panels, which is the difference between a good match and an invisible one.
- Silver and grey metallics on a car that has spent ten Texas summers outside have drifted from the code, and a factory-code panel will read slightly fresh next to them.
- Painted parts ship with a foam collar and corner protectors. Do not stand one on its edge in a garage, that is how a perfect cover gets a chip before it is ever fitted.
- Sensor rings and fog bezels are usually textured black rather than body color, and ordering the whole thing painted is money spent on a part nobody sees.
- Two-tone vehicles have a break line that has to be masked and shot in two operations, and the break line position varies by trim rather than by model.
- Textured lower cladding is usually not painted at all from the factory, and painting it body colour is a modification rather than a repair.
- Bumper covers get sprayed off the car with the sensor rings out, so the rings and bezels come back to you separately in a bag.
- A colour code with a suffix letter after it is a different formula from the same code without one, and the suffix is the thing people leave out of the photograph.
- Clear coat needs a full cure before a panel is safe to polish, and a panel shipped two days after spraying is still soft under the surface.
- Fleet colours ordered in volume get sprayed as a batch, which is why a fleet customer gets a better price per panel than a single retail order.

Where do I find my car's paint code?
The paint code is printed on the manufacturer's tag inside the driver's door jamb, usually on a line marked C/TR, PNT, or EXT.
Will a pre-painted bumper match my car exactly?
A pre-painted bumper matches the factory paint code exactly, but a code match is not the same as a blend, so a panel on a sun-faded ten-year-old car will read slightly fresher than the metal beside it.
How much does pre-painting add to the price?
Pre-painting adds roughly $90 to $180 per panel over the unpainted price, which is well below the $350 to $600 a body shop typically charges to prep, spray and clear a single bumper cover.
Before an adjuster tells you otherwise
Texas Insurance Code Section 1952.301 prohibits an insurer from limiting your coverage by specifying the brand, type, kind, age, vendor, supplier or condition of the parts used to repair your vehicle, and Section 1952.302 prohibits an adjuster from telling you that you must use a shop from a preferred list. The statute is public and it is short. Read the whole subchapter here, or read the section numbers back to whoever is on the phone. Working on the same corner of the car? Pre-Painted Body Parts questions we get asked
What is a tri-coat and why does it cost more?
A tri-coat is a paint system with a ground coat, a translucent pearl mid-coat and a clear, and the mid-coat thickness changes the final color, so it has to be sprayed against a let-down panel.
Can I get a painted part in a color my car did not come in?
Yes, we can spray any code you give us, though it is worth knowing that an off-code respray shows up on a vehicle history report and can move resale value.
Do pre-painted parts come with a warranty on the finish?
Our painted panels carry a finish warranty against peel and delamination, and the one thing it will not cover is a chip from handling before installation.
